Father's Lullaby

Yesterday I watched the rain As it fell upon the roof I dreamed of chasing the sun As it fled from the world
Yesterday I was sufficating In a see-through cage Trapped by other forces On a world, not my own
Then I learned of a way out From a friend of mine Who gave me all the connections And a place to run and hide
As I was crouched hiding The answers came to me And I desided to go back To a place I'd been before
So today I'm dancing in the rain As it falls upon the meadow And watching the sun fly Safe in my father's lullaby
