Three of us were hanging on crosses on a hill one of us is hanging still
I was the winner of the local race his loss was written in the tears on his face
Pity me the winner I gave him a special hug and promptly went back to drink from my jug
Three of us were hanging on crosses on the hill I am the one who is hanging still
My wife is in the bedroom she is with my best friend this will be her end
Pity him the winner I walked away poor guy has to live with her each day
Three of us were hanging on crosses on the hill the weakest is hanging still
It is Sunday the choir is singing low the preacher is talking about the place I am sure to go
See the pillow where I lay my head stains of blood but I am not dead
Three of us were hanging on crosses on the hill Christ forgives me but I am hanging still
When you read your prayer book look deep inside from your sins do not hide
When you ask for mercy take what he will give and pray that in his house you will live
Pride and anger haunt me I bought paid for this tree
NOW
from this cross I will never be set free
