Battered

Contributed by KJ on Sunday, 21st September 2003 @ 10:05:00 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A Twinge sensation in an ethereal technique
Strike yourself, whilst opening a hollow shriek
Sheathe it with another one, and a trifle more
Apathy fulfills, as it leaks ardently from your pores

Scorching, as to the result of ethanol and flames
Drifting away from smoke, such a bloody shame
Another one wandered off without any dismay
A gentle touch causes this sensation to simply fade

Majestic lights engulf you, the remnant is dainty
As they flickered aphetically, you still could see
Blow after blow, a fist shatters as it makes collision
Hoping for shelter and for a voice to say it's done

Due to the lack of interest from you there is no chance
There is a flaw in the event that you rise to a proper stance
It shall be maleficent eyes followed by transparent gapes
There you will be reassured that there is no final escape

So resume the self-afflicting wounds you first commenced
As you hungrily grab the only thing that was left in suspense
Knowingly accepting the fact you thrive for the throbbing
Oblivious to the hopes and cries of others, and to it all ever stopping
