Music Makers Deluxe

Contributed by norm on Thursday, 25th September 2003 @ 05:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

The three Bs all wrapped together
one by one, we'll taste their measure:
Bach's inventions have good intentions
Beethoven's Pathatique sounds quite sleek
Brahm's Lullaby makes you want to sigh
--------------------------------------
Lenny Bernstein, in our era
West Side Story, good to heara
--------------------------------------
Freddy Chopin, he makes you happy,
His Minute Waltz is surely snappy.
--------------------------------------
Claude DeBussy, what a guy
Claire de Lune just makes you cry.
--------------------------------------
Gershwin's Rhapsody, it's so true
It makes you turn a shade In Blue
--------------------------------------
Handel's stuff I do not know
If you like him, it's a go.
--------------------------------------
Liszt' I'm always blowing bubbles
Makes you want to forget your troubles.
--------------------------------------
Mozart's Opera, Figero
Is a happy mix of high and low.
--------------------------------------
Rachmaninoff's Pale moon and Empty Arms
Is just so beautiful, it alarms.
--------------------------------------
Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker for elite
As we all know, is very suite.
--------------------------------------
Here's some guys, they may be brothers
I couldn't swear there aren't others:
--------------------------------------
Bartok, Berlioz, Monteverdi, Paganini
--------------------------------------
Scarlatti, Schubert, Schumann, Puccini
--------------------------------------
Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Turkel, Verdi
--------------------------------------
Von Gluck, Von Weber, Wagner, Vivaldi

Well written and oh so true
Music can help when feeling blue
Loved the poem and the rhyme
Will listen to them when I find the time

Dear Herr Normen Turkel....
You've got a winner here
But I can't for the life of me
Remember anyone like Turkel.....that is your name is it not?
Could you please tell me,
unless you've forgot.....how does he fit in?
And this Shostakovich, Von Gluck, Von Weber? I just sit here and stare????? Well, maybe you're right, I'm not nearly as old as you!
So those guys I might have missed, but Turkel....that sounds so familiar somehow?
Where have I heard that name before?
It's like your last name, Turkel's galore.
Really wonderful poem Norm....My whole household enjoys them all, every single day.....but TURKEL?Still doesn't ring a bell!Pray tell what did he compose, "The Opera of How to Sell?" Please let me know!
lovingcrtters
