The clock ticks seconds away
The sky is so blue today
I finally get to see my baby
These times are all I live for
Came so far from ship to shore
Breathing in deep of the air from the sea
I'm getting closer to you
The trees seem to touch the sky
To the clouds they reach so high
I finally feel I can breathe again
Gulls skim the water's surface
Brushing it with a sweet kiss
It never looked or felt this way back then
I'm getting closer to you
I can't wait to see your face
And look into your eyes
Hold you tight in my arms' embrace
As the loneliness dies
My heart is bruised, it's so black and blue
The way I feel now is long overdue
I just wanna be closer to you
I'm on my way
Now I lay here in your arms
Feeling so safe from all harm
Revelling in every sweet, tender kiss
My pain eased with each smile and touch
Every moment means so much
I feel I've drifted away into bliss
I'm so much closer to you
I lose myself within you
I couldn't be happier to
Your touch like raging fire consumes me
Skin on skin, our bodies entwine
Feeling your hands all over mine
You take me away on a beautiful dream
I'm so much closer to you
Now our time's come to an end
And I have to say goodbye
I'm all alone again
Here without you I sit and cry
Because there's nothing else I can do
Without you I always feel kinda blue
I just wanna be closer to you
I'll find a way
