the thoughts have left me
and drift beyond this realm
the dream that I chase in the night,
silent and quiet, evaporating into
the morning mist
the raging pain in my eyes
and I remain alone, no matter what,
you can't be replaced
I'll never forget
the vision we could of shared
the memories I should have recall
how we used to embrace
and I'll remember
your pure and carefree heart
your love for life from the start
no matter what,
you'll always remain in me
and I'll remember
autumn leaves to flowers bloom
i knew that it wouldn't last
for time had taken your essence
and drained you of your sweet
fragrance.
gradually it will fade
eventually it will disappear
and I remain alone
with all the childhood promises
melting through my hands.
the fragile of innocence
gone and broken
