Spirit Of Heart

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I walked into your room today.
It was morning cool, bright.... fresh.
I sat down
wrapping my thought and memories,
feeling of a lifetime
warmly in your blanket.
Slowly rocking.... the birds singing,
keeping rhythm
with the creaking of your chair.
My chest rises with yours as I hold you
closer to me than all the times before.
I feel as one.
I look at you,
your eyes....
God, you are so beautiful!
What an awesome gift to behold.....
your eyes melt into mine
as we both smile.
My daughter.
My precious one....
My darling angel.
I'll love you
for many lifetimes
past and future
but ahhh, this present
'tis so very sweet.
I held you in your room today.
Sang your little song
and cried....
As I realized
a flaw in the perfection of
my minds eye.....
I couldn't remember how you smelled.
The essence of you...
I can feel your presence.
I can hear your voice.
I can see your sparkle.
But, there's no you.
To meet again,
if ever so brief....
To hold you.
To feel you.
Look at you.
Hear you laugh.
Smell your hair
one more time.
Someday
I'll feel as if it were just
a simple moment in time....
Someday....
One day.....
Yes....
My little girl, yes.
I spent time with you
in your room today.

Oh god I cried when I read this ... at first believing it was a sweet write and imagining holding my own daughter this way ... and then, realising your pain and loss ... you wrote this with so much expression of sorrow, a truly beautiful write ... my heart goes out to you ... Jan
