it wasnt the message
but the messenger
standing in the rain
watching for expressions
to change the daylight
waking up again and again
thinking nothing in particular
too hot to sleep anymore
too cold to sit by the window
lacking tranquility to see
beyond the blackened windows
small reminders like cinders
sting the eyes not tears
then there is coffee in my cup
he puts everything in order
pretends everything s okay
and I play along slightly off key
until someone mentions you
and I feel as if Ive been cheated
hearing your name in the refrain
while I sip from a bitter cup
indulging in some reverie
lacking any relevance
and the rain swept roads
all lead so very far away
infiltrating dreams into reality
floating unattached to anything
you drift away on clouds
unlikely to be seen again

your poetrys special, uplifting and real
hard pressed to say, how it makes me feel,
you take a bit of life, and to it add reality
always within' your poems, i see a bit of me,
as i drink my coffee here, i see a bit of you
even in the bluer parts, ever you shine true,
different clouds yet seems the same sky

Yep...Your style of writing puts me right there beside you, lets me feel what you feel. I can even taste the coffee...yuck..I hate coffee, ya wouldnt happen to have any tea would ya? lol...Great write Merry..
