From the distance I wonder if I ever really knew you (or ever shall)
The child. you once were The man. you have become
Once I was mommy Custodian of your unconditional love Time has not been kind (nor cruel) Love is still abundant (rejoicing in my soul)
Flashes of the pasthaunt the present
The path you chose was not an simple one Letters written can never convey the sentiment realized The pride I feel does not belong to me
Increasingly I realize I can never justify your respect (the way you have won mine)
The tears shed are not of sadness or regret but of hope and pride of your accomplishments and merit of your effort
