i run in a straight line
it runs paralel to others
but never crosses
never combines
on this single path
i roam alone
others are there
but always at a distance
too far to touch
on this single path
i stay away from other paths
they have no bearing
they lead elswhere
not where i am going
on this single path
i force myself away
deviate from the right
and head for the wrong
on this single path
i travel alone
travel to my destiny
a destiny i cannot see
but i am convinced that it exists
on this single path
my heart is broken
my thoughts crushed
my eyes low
concetrating on the path
on this single pathe
flooded with tears
but not from me
they flow from the other path
the one i did not follow
on this single path
the salty tears have become bitter
the bitterness covers my shoes
i have no choice but to taste it
on this single path
there is nothing left
just empty desert
and bitter thoughts
this taste will be here forever
on this single path
it has become truly a single path
