Rock Bottom

I feel the life inside of me slowly sliiping away
As I feel you slipping away from me
Standing at the top I watch you slide down to the bottom
To the warm accepting arms of a new and beautiful woman
All I can do is run and slide down after you
But it's such a slow ride for me, why can't I catch up?
The closer I am to the bottom, the farther away you are
And it's too late, you're gone and I've hit rock bottom
The water on the slides has been turned on now
The water is crashing down on top of me, holding me down
I'm drowning in a pool, a pool of my own tears
And as my last deep breath fills my lungs with the salty tears
My last thoughts are of you, the memories that give my body strength
The strength to swim, kicking against the pressure
Up past the hands that were yours, holding me under
And I reach the warm sun above, and climb out of this hole
And now I'm determined, because you won't hold me back
You won't be killing me anytime soon, or anytime later
And if I had that chance again, and believe me, YOU never will
But just if, then I'll be pushing you down that slide,
And walk away.... and never, ever, look back
