why do you enlighten my agony
with illusions of your mystery?
how can you speculate the fantasy
of a perfectly flawed reality?
I justify your dancing lips
as they consume my desire
tasting the chaos of harmony
inspiring the flames of my fire
engulf me in your gaze tonite
before you start to feel contrite
perplexity is the price I'll pay
if you tell me you cannot stay
take a leap into the unknown
hold my hand and I won't let go
no need for you to be terrified
all for you are the tears I've cried
shadowed by burdens of our years
our stubborn hands share quiet fears
unleash the chains around your heart's gate
let the color of joy illuminate
I watch the baptism of your eyes
fill the radiance of my surprise
your laughter sends my torture
into a passionate season of rapture
allow your heart to take the flight
I'll carry you deep into the night
abandon the ghosts of a paltry past
and I'll give you a freedom that lasts
