You Promised

Contributed by hope on Friday, 17th October 2003 @ 02:19:27 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

You promised youd always be their
You said dont worry, there is nothing to fear
Hold my hand, it will be alright
I will protect you with all my might
Just rest your head upon my chest
Close your eyes and have a rest
Please calm down and take a breath
For there is nothing to fear

You made me think that people care
And that maybe life was a bit fair
I let my eyes fill with tears and told you of all my fears
But sure all good things come to an end
It became to hard to be my friend

Slowly you pulled away
I knew all along you wouldnt stay
I was just too much to deal
All the pain was just too real

Through all this, what did I gain?
All I can think is just more pain

I hate it when guys promise things and then go back on them the way they do. I have had one particular guy do that to me, he promised me so much, then went and took it all away again. I realized he wasn't worth crying over, sure it hurt like hell, but he wasn't worth it. Hang in there, things will get better for you.

Hey... you'll find someone who really cares, someone who knows how to value love.
Take care.
