Wipe my eyes and take a breath
Wish I would just lose control
But not a tear falls from my eye
What happened to me?
Promise this and promise that
Goodnight baby, I love you too
Call again same time tomorrow
Automatic resolve
All alone now, unfulfilled
Desperately needing
Emotion to feed me
Needing something raw and real
Something I understand
Reactions never planned
I need to cry 'cause that's what's real
It's what I know and how I deal
I need to feel before I heal
It's just me
Nothing is simple or black and white
I see this world in a prism
Colours reflecting off every mirror
Every breath of air
There's so much more than what you see
It's all so beautifully complex
Different aspects, different faces
And it's all perception
Is there an absolute truth?
It is what you see
It's just meant to be
I crave what you won't easily give
Emotional withdrawal
Addicted to the fall
I need to cry 'cause that's what's real
(That's what I understand)
It's what I know and how I deal
(It's like food for the soul)
I need to feel before I heal
(Addicted, I need it)
It's just me

i really loved this poem and i couldn't help but comment on this. the line "I need to cry 'cause that's what's real" hit me like a brick to the face. it was truly a moment of clarity for me and i thank you for it.
