All I have are withered glimpses Of a man that once was great That make up a memory Of a man I hardly knew.
A father and a husband Hardworker and soldier Who now lays six feet under Surrounded by worm and dirt.
In a box lays a soldier Whose body was weaker than his mind. Who ended his days In a chair beside a fading light.
A sharp mind in a body Decaying as he sat but, What was that man before I am not blessed enough to know.
All I have are withered glimpses Of a man that once was great That make up a memory Of a man I hardly knew.
