The beauty that you saw from the corner of your eye is fleeting when you turn your head. Yet in that moment you would swear to perfection. Words slip through your grasp no matter how far you can reach. Mind or mouth won't let you speak. Your vision blurs as you cry with frustration wanting nothing more than to say the word hello. Cast to the side by only yourself. Pounding your fist hard to the wall anger recedes into depression. The one that you wanted now out of reach. Turn towards yourself in gentle embrace. Hope returns as you find your composure. You now utter the word you struggled with earlier. A smile in return sends you soaring even higher. The book of the Damned Spirit.

That really struck a chord. I can think of only one word to describe this poem: wow. |
