Frost on the pumpkin snow on the plow cornfields are windblown winter's coming now.
Ice crystals are dancing sun's behind the moon scarecrow is working winter's coming soon.
Leaves are red and gold grass has turned to brown mountain's velvet is missing winter shows it's frown.
Pinecones burst and fall hear the crunch on the ground cold rush is coming forth winter's come to town.
The wind is picking up the shore loses its' sea summer days are lost forever winter does not flee.
The ache sets in 'bout September you can feel the darkness creep watch the moon come out early in with winter it seeps.
Harvest sphere so bright in the sky the taste of fall's crisp air witches, goons and goblins winter screams without a care.
Thankful holiday rushes commercial's quest of greed what was sowed in springtime winter reaps it's seed.
Waiting for the coming year some rest at end of Marchs' stay flowers' bloom not far from then as winter goes away.
So until then I'll curse and cry for what early darkness brings to me loss and pain and crushing memories as winter comes to be.

Winter.... tis a puzzling topic, I should think...... It's usually percieved in a negative light. Atleast what I've seen. Well, except that Robert Frost one, "Stopping by A Lake on A Cold Winter's Night" I think it's called. Probably got the name wrong, but hey, who cares. Point is, winter is a fascinating subject, am I right? Very mysterious......
Kudos on the write, it was lovely.
Love Joy and Peace,

An underlying message of pain ... and get your drift here ... I feel so badly for you as I know what pain you will be feeling this next month (and forever) ... but a beautifully written poem about winter and its effect ... Jan |

Jaymee you wrote about nature, and it was splendid indeed!
I hear your aching heart, and I know it's in need.
I lost my Bob in March, just before Spring,
It matters not the season, rain, snow, hail or sleet!
Whenever a season will change, I remember the defeat!
I understand your pain....and wish I could be near for a great hug....won't take away your hurt, but may help you with the tug!
Love you,
ConSue |
