Ophelia (Been So Long)

Contributed by SinfullyTwisted on Tuesday, 4th November 2003 @ 07:18:12 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Corners of my mind collecting dust
Been so long since Ive thought
Pretty thoughts
Hidden away in the little room
Of loneliness
Shut up in the dark, alone

Looking through the looking glass
So many colours, so many lights
Floating dead down the river
Choking on the flowers you gave
Save me from this prison tonight

Sleeping like a corpse in the coffin
Been so long since Ive dreamed
Pretty dreams
Running away to the little room
Of loneliness
Shut up in the dark, alone

And everything you said
Left me laughing as I died
Everything you said
Left me smiling as I froze inside

Looking through the looking glass
So many colours, so many lights
Floating dead down the river
Choking on the flowers you gave
Save me from this prison tonight

Cant you see its so clich?
Shut up, shut up
Let me run away

And everything you said
Left me laughing as I died

Cant you see its so clich?

Everything you said
Left me smiling as I froze inside

Shut up, shut up
Let me run away

Hamlet allusion? Possibly? Or no?
Anyways, I think this is a very moving, stirring peice, I really like it..... I don't flow well with the dark topic side of it, but you've got to give credit where credit is due =)
Great writing, really it is.... I could hear the tune inside my mind...

God bless,
