What do you do when the nightmares come true
When your heart aches beyond repair
And you reach for the friend who was never there
How do you tell between sleep and awake
I pray the lord my soul to take
When does the pain end and you life begin
When does the past stop crushing you from within
Where is my Lord, my savior from the night
The one who replaces hurt with the morning light
Who will love me, who won't turn and hide
Who is the one who stays after the laughter dies
