The Question

Contributed by sandeye75 on Friday, 23rd August 2002 @ 03:55:25 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

I am the ball of light in your otherwise dark existence
The light which you feed from
I absorb your fears and your pain
I take your punches, take your bulls**t
I am the glimpse of hope in your eyes
Conceited and stubborn I think I can heal you

This padded room that confines you
You have built inside your head
I wonder what you hide in there
Piles of what ifs, should ofs and could ofs
Beaten down dreams never standing a chance
Were the bruises on the outside or within?
The possibilities fascinate me

You try to convince me that its me and not you
I am the evil root from which your hate stems
A crime which is punishable by death...one lash at a time
How long can we live off my life alone
Rationing out my energy I can feed you for awhile
But I am famished too, weakened and subdued
I can feel your hate consuming me, draining my light
If I stay here much longer I will be lost too

So the question I guess now is
Who is more important?
Well f**k you

You GO Girl!!! Never let anyone else put out your light. This is the only life you have and you only have two choices...let yourself live in the misery that is the two of you, or put on your dress and dancing shoes and claim your life and happiness. Great write...good chance we have all been in that "savior" mode before. Unfortunately, we can only save ourselves.
Take care,
Sherry
