Smoke tendrils reaching out From the darkness Bringing wild confusion Explosions in anger
Fallujah erupts Masses of people pour into the streets Shouting their hatred Against me for being here.
Children with rocks Stand in ankle deep sewer water Obscenities thrown out like grenades We are here for them.
Shanty town Smells like old Mexican bars On the border of insanity With burning hot sand.
Horse soldiers dying daily Shot by people without remorse RPG’s find their targets And death calls you home.

Thank you I'm glad you liked it. I too spent time in Bosnia (Mostar with the French). Glad to be back, now all I have to do is get out of Iraq. |
