I am.. for all intends and purposes a man for whom the only point of life is survival and for whom hope has no meanings. I thrive on despair and other deeply dark emotions. However this poem has touched a chord even in me. I advocate surendering to despair but perhaps...I do harbor some contentions of hope and the future. I myself am not married and if things go as downhill as I am going, I will never father a child of my own. However after my father's passing and now as an uncle I have been involved in the upbringing of two brothers and two nephews. What I have learned is that a child is perhaps the worst thing in the world to take care of and there comes a time that I harbor thoughts of torture and other unpleseantness on children under my care. But given that...I have also learned about the magic of watching the growth of a living being and of nurturing....a child...it gives me great happiness to be a part of my brothers' and nephews' lives and it is nice when they look up to me as someone who is their big brother or uncle. It saddens me that someone would dare to comtemplate such a thing as to end a life before it even began...oh well...I must go back to being my dark and desparing self now....maybe your friend would reconsider....as for you....congratulations and good luck in your journey as a parent.....it is an experience that you will certainly have lots to write about in the future.....of course I myself have no direct experience but my parents, friends and siblings seem to enjoy being a parent....
