One Last Dance

Contributed by Vitreous_Soul on Sunday, 16th November 2003 @ 05:58:21 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Her silhouette still haunts the halls
Faintly still her soft voice calls
A flame that's dimmed but never burned out
Something i'd hoped I could do without

Candle light jumps and shadows are cast
At that moment I wish the present was the past
I want my hands around your wrists
And nothing more than to be kissed

Elusive is acceptance
Again alone I make my stance
All I want is just one chance
A single time and what it grants
At least leave me with one last dance

I see a figure in the archway
But as I turn it fades away
The spectre of a person who is gone
With futility the search goes on

Wind grabs the drapery with windows flung wide
It flows as the dress of a luminous bride
A chill fills the expansive corridor
Shiver as I hear light footsteps on the floor

Elusive is acceptance
Again alone I make my stance
All I want is just one chance
A single time and what it grants
At least leave me with one last dance

As morning breaks I lie in bed
Eyes full of tears, memories race through my head
Emotionally a withered wreck
Still I feel your breath against my neck

Just one time, one last dance
Not a second but a first chance
An empty heart, a burned out soul
Loneliness encircles, catatonic trance

This one brought tears to my eyes. Sometimes I remember and I only want to forget, yet I need that last dance. Make sense?

"As morning breaks I lie in bed
Eyes full of tears, memories race through my head
Emotionally a withered wreck
Still I feel your breath against my neck"

I could not have expressed what it feels like more.
Now I have to find kleenex.
