if the reverend had a dollar would he still beg me for quarter after mass would he count the coins like a greasy greedy banker the field is swelling with hidden meaning as our feet find the way home before dark not until we see a light in the window do we dare to laugh and run the last hundred yards into the safe and familiar circle we have come to love every crack in the wall, leak in the roof and squirrel in between the walls if the teacher read to us in latin would we learn to speak it too could we twist our tongues around it turn the sound into a language that we knew the rain comes soft and silent falling kissing are upturned noses while filling the rivers to boiling wash away the unsuspecting and those who think the rain is gentle will surely never know the answers to life's annoying riddles before it's time for them to go it surely is a quandary to think upon the answers n'er come easy and the time to ponder quickly gone

Ya know...I;d like to climb inside your mind for just one moment and see these thoughts as they arise. Your words always leave me pondering.
Well done

Dear Mer,
This reminds me of a good riddle...except I have a fiddle.....the music is there...and I love the words, and care....but where I end up is not fair? I'm not sure....but Iike the feeling...
my head is reeling...and I could read so much into this poem....as my life experiences help me to roam. I like where you take me Mer....but it's not your home?
Great Write....
I'll always wonder what you have in your sight?
Warm Love,
ConSue |
