Riding In Fall

Contributed by sindi-selde on Sunday, 16th November 2003 @ 11:16:01 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

nothing moves in the crisp autumn air
until by unspoken agreement by the horse and rider they move forward
his hoofs crackle the dry leaves
yellow
red
orange
brown
the horse stops and they watch leaves falling
falling
falling like snowflakes
each one different and beautiful
snowing leaves
soon the leaves shall melt into snow
as fall melts into winter
like the bodies of the lone companions melt into one
they are one
no signal but the magic of there own intertwined thoughts passes between them
as they stir the woods quiet with a trot
the spell is broken
birds chatter in the once quiet air
but they are still one
and always will be

Not bad, not bad at all. Nice visuals-- "snowing leaves" and such give a great mental picture. Nice.
