Two bruised souls entwined
Seeking shelter from the storm
Each one battling their own inner demons
With time and trust, they will transform
Gentle lips whisper sweet promises
Their touch as soft as a sigh
Meaningful looks aimed straight at the heart
On each other, they come to rely
Patiently accepting, providing encouragement
Welcoming arms await
Precious, tender, emotional bonds
Is what they've begun to create
Eyes alight, burning with hope
The future is theirs to attain
Turning away from the past, faces towards the sun
Experiencing emotions neither can explain
Hearts exposed, each feeling fragile and scared
They both have lessons to learn and to teach
Giving over and following their hearts
Towards each other, they continue to reach.
