Save the butterfly

Contributed by Aika on Tuesday, 18th November 2003 @ 08:37:29 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Flying so softly,
wings so light
dancing in the air
the small butterfly

it is so free
as it always wished to be
it is so happy
in the air dancing

Curious and silly
saw an open window
and wanted to see
what is it

Flew carefully inside
that poor lil butterfly
and saw the inside
oooooooh, she liked!

After a while
wanted to give up
and fly out but alas!
suddenly the wind
closed the window up

Trying to get through
tapping on the glass
fluttering wings
and so very sad eyes

Exhausted of vain tries
missing her meadow and light
wings hurting badly
weak, falling on the ground

those tiny salty tears
that fast beating heart
hushed sobs and cry
and a question:
WHY?

Slowly dying,
enfeebled and triste
on the ground
of unknown house

Wishing an angel
revived her wings
lifting her head,slowly
looking out - hopelessly

Pained and tormented heart
closed mind
darkness and surrender of life
so died,one lil curious butterfly

Let me guess....a metaphor of how man gets ensnared in a materialistic world?
