I know Trust me that I'll know You come so far down here Just to let me know
I descend into nothing And you take away everything
My life is in pieces Please come pick them up Don't be afraid to speak to me Go ahead and wake me up
Never really believed No one really held my fate Stricken from my mind again How could you want to relate?
Run away from my tomorrow And I'll find out who I am I swear I want to face the truth But I don't think I can
It's alright for you to hate me And to shatter the thoughts I love to hold It's okay for you to spite me with someone else And it's fine to leave me cold
I'll be here in a year or so Eternity loses it's speed Confirming hidden ideas And finding everything I'll ever need
You left me on this journey No supplies to keep me strong You quit on me so quickly And this road ahead is so long
Give the proof for something Broken bottles at my feet Lost my sense of direction Wandering the street
Capture these memories I'll throw them in a net But for you to slip from my fingers And this is the best I'll ever get
Remember who you were back then Take away the pain Get out of my life forever Don't come back again
I don't want to see you And I won't read your mail Burn my unsent letters I'll hammer in the nail
The nail that was a splinter That carved paths in my brain I never want to see you from now And I never want to remember this pain

I was liking this. I want to know though and have to ask if there was a sudden turn in emotion.... |

Yes, actually there was a turn in emotion. The beginning of the poem is despaired yet still holds an element of hope in the words. As it reached the bottom it took a turn to a more angry tone that doesn't care if there is hope left or not. |
