Dust Off The Edge

Contributed by Exodus-On-Life on Thursday, 20th November 2003 @ 07:26:41 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The only dead end to nowhere
Found at the edge of my sorrow

Wishing always I could meet you there

Breaking down and taking my time
Wipe my eyes so dry

Bloodshot and tired
Dust off the edge

I couldn't feel any different
All these reasons I'll never know

Taking my life one step at a time
Is this rate too fast or am I too slow?

Squint blue eyes against the torment
Needles all down my back

Poking for an answer
A will waiting to crack

Dreaming and sleeping
Shaking off my endless apologies

Ugly sunsets forever
Dusting off the edge

Lonely whispers that crush me
Bury me into the ground

Softly uttered echoes
Strain to hear the sound

Wake up in the orange
Lights flow through windows

Wake me up later
And forget those things we'll never know

Take my own life so slowly
Help me empty my mind

Sweep up the pieces left from me
The cracked glass from my head

Hide these long lost feelings under the rug
And then you can dust off the edge

The edge of the sorrow
The only emotion I was ever promised

The edge of eternity
Waiting for something always missed

Set my examples
Roll those tears down my face

Walking quicker through my dreams
And rush to be awake

Make me over somehow

Meet me at my dead end to nowhere
We can look for the edge together

Dust that never goes away
The dust that settles on my body
The dust that settles on the edge

A long lost particle
Seems to scream my fate

Dust off the edge
And please dust off my body

I grow so weary here while I wait
