Judging
Tonight as I sat in judgment
Of another ignorant person a voice said to me
Since you are so quick to judge
For a moment open your eyes and see
The person you judge to be ignorant
Listen and see if this is true
Once upon a time
Wasnt the ignorant person you?
You sit in judgment of others
After time has passed you by
You shake your head and condemn
Because you think others lie
But if you check your heart
Think back not so long ago
You too told some lies
And its true you know
Time and experience
Others patience and love
Helped open your eyes
To the teachings from above
Each person sets out on a journey
That is the reason for life
It takes a lifetime of learning
Amidst all kinds of pain and strife
They too must live
Some will learn, some will not
You know this too
Except you forgot
Patience and love
Understanding and grace
Is all that separates
The wise from the ignorant place
Remember you too are learning
Perfection has not been achieved
To think oneself better than another
Is only to deceive
Wisdom indeed is worthy
Of those who are kind
Understand these words
And true wisdom youll find
