along came a spider

Contributed by c on Tuesday, 25th November 2003 @ 01:49:39 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

we were so perfect
comfortable and content
so much love and respect
every moment spent
with you was a treasure
growing deeper and wider
our love had no measure
then, along came a spider
frightening my mind
wanting to run away
where will we find
a safe place to stay
cuz we're lost now
and there is no where to run
we made our true vow
we're just waiting for the sun
to shine again so bright
oh, sun, reveal your rays
the darkness of the night
is where the spider stays
be patient, be strong
all we need is devotion
when the spider came along
he tramped our every emotion
questioning who we are
and if this love will last
leaving tears and scars
the spider's spell is cast
this is where we begin
God as our provider
only memories will tell when
along came a spider

I loved the line about aking the sun to shine in the darkness, and to chase the spider away. I enjoyed the extended metaphor of doubs being a spider. Nice job.
