He grew up in a small town, where you worked for everything you had. Spent his childhood playin ball underneath the Illinois sun. He graduated when he turned eigthteen and the military caught his eye. Now I lay flowers on the grave of this Air Force guy.
He made his life fixin airplanes, told his family he wasn't in any danger. Yet he was.
One second, one minute, one different decision years ago. Thats all it takes. Thats all it would take to have him back. One second, one minute, one different decision years ago.
He said, "Mom, I'm leaving, I love you, please dont cry." The day he left for war. He loved his parents, his brothers, his friends, and his country more than himself.
One second, one minute, one different decision years ago. Thats all it would take to have him back. One second, one minute, one different decision years ago.
He wrote home with letters of encouragement, never tellin how bad it really was, but when he laid down to sleep, he longed for the comforts of home.
Screams rang out. Shotgun blasts stung the air. Are you all right young man? He said, "I'm ok, I'll be fine, go help someone else."
One second, one minute, one different decision years ago.
He said, "Mom, I love you please dont cry." The day he died.
One second, one minute, one different decision years ago. Thats all it takes. Thats all it would take to have him back. One second, one minute, one different decision years ago. One second, one minute, one different decision years ago.
