Her In My Memory

Contributed by Crimsonflame on Thursday, 27th November 2003 @ 11:31:03 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Through my little window.
I see the vast,endless sky,
I see the freshest buds grow,
I see the grass sway by and by.

I see her now,
Frolicking in her white dress,
A sunhat in one delicate hand,
Embracing the vastness of the blue sky.

Skylarks chirped for her laugh,
The sun smiled at her smile,
The gentle breeze swirled around her,
In a gentle but loving caress.

She is now no longer there,
Out in the sunshine and freedom,
Out among the flowers she loved,
Nor is she singing among the birds.

She is now bound in chains and bolts,
Bound to her duties and responsibilities,
Away from the kind sun,
Away from the gentle breeze.

I long to be her again,
I long for the key to my chains,
Set me free now,
And lead me to my pleasant meadow.

thanks for sharing, post more, the contrast of the passion and life in the first four stanzas and the crushing reality of the final two stanzas is striking

Take care.
