Folded in the arms
Of a fantasy
That I would have
Willed into reality
But hope
Is an elusive creature
Running
At the first sign
Of fear
And what way
Is there
To coax hope
Back into a heart
Full of fear
Would you have me
Embrace that fear
To perhaps
Regain hope
Only to have it
Chased further away
By that ever present monster
Or would you have me wait
With patience
I do not possess
Either way
Hope has not
Made itself
Known to me
