Ever seen a face corroded with sadness? Real Pain? Real Hurt? Real Life? Ever seen young eyes deep and low? Ever watched a child's heart scratched When the vibration of the door slamming hits their little body? Ever heard your precious creation's tiny footsteps walk softly into the room whilst you empty your lungs of power and feelings of anger? Ever tried to explain it to them afterwards? To make them understand? To comfort them? Or merely pretend it never happened? Ever watched their minds fail to comprehend any of it? Any of the stupid meaningless phrases you can spontaneously muster to reassure them? 'We both love you very much' Ever sat and looked on as your child shivers in their duvet and falls into an uncomfortable and troubled slumber? There's only so many times you can heal a bleeding soul with your waterproof kiddie plasters

Raw and vociferous.
I will now *applaud*.
You manage to evoke such emotion within me with this, that I think you've surpassed my expectations of what free-versus can be. Each line works wonders into the next, in a heart-wrenching, yet captivating write.
5 stars now, another 5 stars in 2 weeks when I come back to re-read this.
My appreciations and further commendations, Ms. Dagger. |
