the past slips off into dream
and the future is but murky shadow
when the daylight fails
plunging into darkness
while stars mock
such earthly trials
i am cloaked in solitude
quiet as death this house
the hum of energy
like blood through veins
linking me to you
we are closer than you think
on this spinning orb
separated by mere minutes
the positive and negative charges
instant recognition of truth
in eyes beheld as centuries old
wisdom pours her tears
into our hearts
that we might be fulfilled
knotted souls entwine
the embers of desire
lest we forget who we are
the reckoning is near
the hour of our reason comes
ever closer to the edge
of what we seek
