I had to be sure. Just one more time
The familiar glimmer of hope
Burning strong inside me
Maybe... Just maybe it was gone
There it was. That smile
So perfect. My downfall
Then the voice inside my head
Screaming at me to move
I have to get out of here
Behind closed eyes
In the blackness of my mind
That smile, etched into my soul
I found myself smiling.
How could I not. So perfect. Like you
No, nothing has changed. It's still there
Opening my eyes, I force my legs to move
All hope has faded. Still, I had to be sure
And now I know...
