My dear
I do not want to sound full of myself
But can you not see
What is on my shelf?
Look in the jewelry box, over there
What lies inside
Is only the truth, I swear
It is what I have tried to hide
If you do not want to look I understand
But if you do not I will tell you instead
For a long time of waiting I had to withstand
To let you know what was in my heart and head
All that lies inside is a picture of you and me
Together as we should be
But my dear you blew your chance
At a most wonderous romance
And now there is only a picture of me
And time will reveal who my love will be
