Every morning when I wake
I wonder if Im in a dream
How much time will it take
Or are things really as they seem?
Its been long since Ive woken this way
My dream lingers, as does my smile
My true feelings it does betray
For it has lingered awhile
I think Im still in shock
Or maybe Im still asleep
In a safe place, these memories Ill lock
And with them the feelings will keep
I feel I can take a deep breath
And Id never realized
My heart had been so close to death
Now, Im once again alive!
I guess to others I seem silly
Maybe they think me daft
No more existing glumly
Ive left my frown in the past
Some people would ask for a pinch
But thats not to what I aspire
For right now lifes a cinch
And to keep dreaming I desire
I could dream for all time with ease
I know that you could too
If you had dreams like these
You too would dream life through
