“What are you thinking?”

Contributed by pasta on Thursday, 11th December 2003 @ 11:45:34 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

What are you thinking? You asked

My thoughts are like the autumn leaves
That are swept up by a summer breeze
Each thought, a leaf, spinning and twirling round
My feelings, the wind, suspending them above the ground

You want to know how I feel inside
But its easier just to run and hide
For my head is spinning much too fast
Full of hopes for the future, and scars from the past

Have patience, the leaves will settle down
Theyll come back to rest upon the ground
And when they do Ill rake a pile
Full of thoughts of you that will make me smile

Dont wonder bout this silly grin
Its the pile of leaves that makes me smile within
And so my dear with one last rhyme
I ask from you, for just a little more time.

From me, you can have anything you want; even if your desire was time.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
