Why Can't You Remember?

Contributed by MisterRight on Thursday, 29th August 2002 @ 05:59:52 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

Why cant you remember the way I do?
Your stomach full of butterflies?
Cant you at least try to?
The future you saw behind my eyes?
The first time I said I loved you?
Us, underneath all the lies?
The carriage ride through central park?
The moonlit beach, the spark?

Cant you remember the love?
Why cant you remember like me?
That I was all youve ever dreamed of?
When you said you knew we were meant to be?
How Im your angel sent from above?
When I got down on my knees?
That first night when I sang to you?
How every time that song comes on, I still do?

The poem you wrote, how it made you feel?
How I wiped away the tears from your face?
How you thought this love was so surreal?
Remember that night in front of the fireplace?
How starting over had such appeal?
The way I held you, your fears erased?
How you felt with me by your side?
Cant you remember one feeling inside?

How I always told you how much you mean?
Remember my kisses, they made you melt?
How before we met you were my dream?
In my arms how protected you felt?
The way I treated you like a queen?
Or even the way my cologne smelt?
Remember anything that can rekindle our fire?
Do you even know you are my only desire?

Why cant you remember?

And you said my poem was sad
This made me cry real hard
How could anyone forget all this

This is so touching,Curtis...
and for another time,I really understand you perfectly....It's such a terrible thing when the one we love acts like heshe doesn't seem to remember those simple, but wonderful things...I'm close to you.
