Dreaming A Beautiful Melody

As I step up on that stage
All eyes fall on me
I walk across to the middle
The microphone is all I see
The music starts playing
It's soft, rythmic sound
People whisper sweet "good lucks"
As I happily look around
Then the music gets faster
And I start to feel the beat
People start screaming my name
And everyone has gotten to their feet
I hear a loud voice
So beautiful and serene
A look of surprise crosses my face
I think "That can't be me."
But as it gets farther into the song,
My mind and heart finally knew
It was my voice singing with such a beautiful tone
I couldn't believe it was true.
Finally the song came to an end
And the crowd went wild
I stood there kind of shocked
And all I could do was smile
But before I could sing another song
I woke up to a morning so blue
And then I realize that it was all a dream
A dream that hadn't come true.
