A Way To Stop Time

Contributed by maryetta on Wednesday, 17th December 2003 @ 09:27:54 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

time tells us what we have left
but i dont want to know what time says
i have so much to make up dont tell me
let me have as much time as i need
is there a way to stop time hold it at bay

what happened to my childhood dreams
where is she now her body is here but
i will never have the mellow times promised
it will never be just the girls never again
is there a way to stop time hold it at bay

so many years lost never to be found again
all because of a disease called alzheimers
the body stays it is only the brain that leaves
no more chats over coffee no more secret smiles
is there a way to stop time hold it at bay

we could have been best friends couldnt we
now after she is asleep all i do is mourn
the woman who brought me to this world is gone
is there a way to stop time hold it at bay
