the look

I'll stab a hole in my lungs to show you my heart,
but your cold lifeless eyes will only see right through to my spine
There is a darkness in you that the night envies.
I can almost feel the bitterness that radiates from your body.
You are for me and it makes me afraid, afraid that i will always be this way.
but worse I'm afraid that I'll end up like you.
So look deeper into what you claim is empty space.
Try to see my beating heart for what it really is.
and there's a change of expression on your face.
You'll deny it and ask if my heart really exists.
(it does and now i know that yours does too)
cause there was that second when i saw your soul.

to love and be loved by the same person is a blissful feeling but is rare....this is sad but it would have been equally difficult for the other person too ...wonderfully written emotions.
