You Pay the Price, Gladly

Topic: HumorPoetry

You look in the papers and what do you see?
A thousands ads for a Christmas tree,
Come to the mall and come to our store,
At prices like ours, you can buy gifts galore.

We have perfumes for moms, buy without qualms,
Bowties for dads and the rest of the lads,
The kids all get toys with plenty of noise
What do you care, Visa is there.

Around the first, that's when you feel lost,
You begin to figure the overall cost,
You rant and you rave but you must behave,
All are real happy but you are the slave.

Right thru September you'll be paying the freight,
Extra charges is something to hate.
Yet, after September the extras are thru
But after December, it re-starts anew.

I know it's a lot and I know it's a pain,
but I love to see Santa again and again,
I never get tired of seeing the old man
I'm willing to pay on a low interest plan...

Dear Norm,
What a timely write I must say....
aren't you glad he doesn't come everyday!
We'd all be broke and living on welfare.
or like you paying on a low interest plan!
Where do you find those now days.
HoHoHoto you Norm....
Enjoyed your little poem....til next year....light the candles, and let out the cat....to get the rat!
Good poem at that!
ConSue
