The Greener Side of Life

There once was a day I took a stroll
Keeping my eyes open as I walked
I came across a castle perched upon a great white cloud
So high up there it almost touched the heavens
The moat around it overflowing with sharks
And as far as I could tell, there was no draw bridge
Glancing up at the walls, I saw more than just stone
Hidden in the divots and cracks I could see eyes watching
Over the top of the massive walls I could hear whispers
Peering as far into windows as my eyes would go, I could see shadows
I couldn't make any of it out
Just bits and pieces of what my eyes were putting together
White doves flew out of a glassless window
And I swear I saw balloons floating high above
Even thought I heard a few good laughs coming from across the moat
I walked all around the castle
Keeping only a few feet from the moat
There definately was something odd here
I noticed those fierce sharks didn't seem so fierce up close
Once around to the back, I noticed the door
The temptation to peek inside was overwhelming
But the question still stood there of how to get in
Contemplating for hours I came up with a plan
Giggling at my stupididity in this plan, I took my first step
There I was, low and behold stepping ever quietly across the shark's backs
There was a few times i almost let my laughter get the best of me
For what I was doing was nothing but hilarious to believe
Then standing before me was the door
Oh wow, what a decision I had to make now
Believe it or not, I actually knocked
But as I expected there was no answer
The sounds coming from behind the great walls were getting louder
Seems a party was definately going on
My excitement and eagerness was building
I opened the door and stepped in
Relieved to be away from the sharks and ready for the excitement
The whispers got louder, the laugher got more often
I made my steps faster through the long hall ahead
Oh! What fun must be awaiting me!
My patience had worn thin as I stepped out of the hall
I was so excited as I stepped into .....nothing
I walked along the courtyard and I glanced up at the walls
I swear I could see eyes in the divots and cracks
Over the top of those immense walls I know I heard whispers
Even thought I could hear a little bit of laughter here and there
And as I shrugged I opened my eyes and continued along my stroll
I came upon a picket fence
At my feet were cracked sidewalks and dandelions
On the other side of the fence I saw lush green grass and pansies
I gave myself a chuckle as I strolled on by....

I'm not too sure where this is coming from but what I do know is my lap-top was rocking side to side as I walked across the shark backs - so I must have got right into it. It must be the child in me but I do love a story - if you know what I mean.
Love Terry xx

Well, it was actually kind of funny how this one came to me. Took the span of an entire day to finish. But allow me to explain it a lil :)...Basically this is a run off the whole 'the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence theory' The sharks are supposed to sort of represent the hassles in everyday life that we all must over come. The door represents the chances we all take. And then ofcourse the wall would represent the fence. It's also kind of a story within a story. Daydreaming about what it would be like to be somewhere else doing something else I suppose and then snapping out of it into the real life which is basically all about the same thing LoL...hope this helps :) loves to ya Terry, Lia
