alone in the house
gun to your head
last thoughts of family and friends
and the life you once led
you gave away your life
you pulled the trigger
forever you're gone
for reasons unfigured
your step-dad, he cried
your mother, distraught
your sister can't speak
and wishes she forgot
to the funeral few came
myself not included
i stayed home with the babies
facing thoughts i'd eluded
my uncle (your step-dad)
still gets choked up
he was gonna adopt you
then you gave up
i cry some nights
i still think of you
the smile you had
the memories i knew
some nights i awake
i awake and i scream
you're in my head
you're in my dreams
what were you thinking
that cold lonely night?
what was it that made you
give up your fight?
Billy, we miss you
and i hope that you know
you may not have thought we did
but we all love you so
