i am an insect
like a beetle on the floor
or the maggots in your corpse
ever searching to deform
i am a defect
a glitch within the systematic perfection
of linear breeding and genetic manipulation
existing only as a scar
i am a regret
set to gnaw upon your mind
you leave reality behind
lost within the loss of time
i am the heart you break
as you deny yourself each day
shunning your true face
put on your mask and fade away
i am every failure
that you wish you could forget
staining your mind with regret
and the worst has not come yet
i am here only to destroy you
on a level so personal
that it almost seems loving
i am here to rip your world apart
because i'm insignificant and dead inside
and your only your pain can make me smile
i've come to take you away
i've come to set you free
i am an exit

this was great except you are not a regret or a failure
i am here only to destroy you
on a level so personal
that it almost seems loving
that was a wierd but a cool outlook nevertheless. Great poem.

Wow, this is deep and profound. The ambiguity of the title drew me in, and the substance is overwhelmingly good. I completely follow where you're coming from, and say thanks for taking me on this thought-provoking ride.
