cold rainy day

Contributed by Blaq_rose on Sunday, 21st December 2003 @ 09:07:31 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

another house
another long distance to drive
another city
she still wished she wasn't alive

away from her friends
away from her crew
but away from the memories
the memories too

she thinks back
far back in her mind
of that one scary night
and that one grusome find

it was raining
pouring you could say
awaiting the movie date
to take place later on that day

as she drove that rainy day
she got a call from dad
"honey, come home" he said quietly
and in three minutes she had

They'd gotten a call from Josh's mom
and she would soon find out
the date scheduled for later that night
would never come about

Josh's mother had informed between sobs
as the story went
that as Josh was driving home
there was an accident

he broke his neck
he felt no pain
one Josh, her Josh
would not come back again

life stopped, time froze
that moment moment in time
no noise was heard
not even a whine

she ran home
the whole 12 blocks
ran up to her room
locked all the locks

his face appeared behind her eyelids
as she collapsed from greif and fear
he looked just like an angel
and whispered in her ear

"don't be sad my love
baby, don't cry
i know that all you want to do
is crawl away and die

" but you have to be strong
don't worry, i'm here
i'll always be with you
you got nothing to fear

" my body is gone
but i'm always with you
and you'll never know
how much i love you

"i love you more than myself
i hope you love me too
i'd give up my entry to heaven
if it meant being with you"

" i love you so much"
she quietly said,
"i wish i was with you
i wish i was dead"

"my dear, please don't say that
you know that's not true
if you killed yourself
you'd kill my memory too"

"Josh, i mean it
I have no life without you
i'm totally lost
i don't know what to do"

"dear it's a desision
i know you can make
and i hope it's a risk
you are willing to take"

back to the present
she knew what to do
she hopped in her car
she didn't drive, she flew

back to the field
where they first kissed
she thought of the man
that she so dearly missed

she layed on the grass
she felt her last breath
she openly welcomed
her oncoming death

a bright light
a quick twinge of pain
that she knew when she saw him
she'd never feel again

arms open wide
she forgot what she lost
she ran and imbraced him
she was back with her Josh

Amazing detail, in a way like watching a movie in your mind. Very well done.

Truly,
-V.S.
