I would like to tell you a story of a child I once knew, From a very young age this child expressed pure ambition, A young girl of no older than five or six, Already she had developed her own style, And had already learnt the difference between right and wrong, A lovely, Young, Vibrant, Rule following sweetheart. As she grew her ambitions, dreams and morals grew with her, Indiscriminative, Loyal, Emotional and cheerful, The more sins she witnessed the more determined she became, Maybe this child were a little naive, Perhaps too trusting, She would learn by the mistakes she would make. Her life progressed slowly and her heart grew, She left a trail of grinning faces wherever she happened to visit, Some claimed she were an angel, Others praised her parents. But her trusting ways were to be this angels downfall, By the age of ten a tragedy left her heart broken, Lost and lonely, She found she could not find comfort within her family and looked elsewhere, She discovered temporary shelter in the form of another child, Although this shelter she found expressed opposite personal qualities than herself, Our angel felt she could confide in and trust this child. Again, Her life became steady, And although her broken heart were still aching she learnt to cope, Though now she knew not to trust too willingly. We now leave our angels childhood and visit her teenage years, She has lost her childhood companion and is alone again, looking for hope. Her dreams and childhood ambitions are almost completely shattered, And our sweethearts compassion for life is minimal. Her desire to find companionship is disappearing, Her past failed relationships with mankind have left her whole personality shattered. So, As you can imagine, When the opportunity of love arises our maturing angel is weary, An older male, older by a few years, takes interest in our teenage darling, It takes her quite a while, perhaps a few months, to realise she is in love, Smiling again, She declares her love to this young man, She is beginning to believe in life once more, slowly. Angels saviour understood her problems, her weariness, and her past, He helped restore her faith in mankind, And helped her realise she was not alone. In her heart of hearts she knew this happiness would not last, Though she wished it would, But sadly, It didnt, And again we find our angel broken hearted, Is there a point to her life now? she will be asking herself this too, Her own answer is no, She finds it impossible to smile, a constant stream of tears stain her cheeks, Her ambitions are wasted, she has lost her motivation for life, And we leave her now resting a razorblade upon her wrist.
